Our Foundation & Journey
DIYA Delhi is the Delhi chapter of Divine India Youth Association (DIYA) – a youth movement conceptualized and started by Revered Dr. Pranav Pandya (Chancellor- Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya) and our former president Respected Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.
With the aim to empower the youth of the nation and galvanize their force towards nation building, DIYA Delhi has undertaken numerous social initiatives, to bring in change at the cutting-edge level.
The journey of DIYA Delhi started 8 years ago, when a group of socially motivated and spiritually charged youths, having a strong inner urge to contribute in nation building, met at Ramakrishna Ashram and discussed on what can be done and the way forward.
The churning of thoughts, ideas and suggestions, culminated into a ‘grand noble vision’ of empowering the youths in Delhi, especially the ones preparing for Civil Services and other competitive exams. Thus, the movement got a steady start across Delhi and gradually Mukherjee Nagar – the one stop destination for aspirants preparing for various competitive exams in Delhi, became the focal zone of action.
As the efforts began, enthusiasm spread across and numerous hands joined in to take the initiative forward. The beginning was from the ‘Thought Revolution Movement’ in the form of motivational book stalls and Jhola Pustakalayas (moving library). Weekly youth motivational program cum meditation sessions also began to be organized on a regular basis, for civil services aspirants in Mukherjee Nagar.
“One seed and one more and the forest Grows,
One drop and one more and the river Flows,
One blow and one more and the mountain goes.”
Since its inception, DIYA Delhi’s initiatives, projects and achievements have grown with every passing day. In this journey, DIYA Delhi has overcome numerous challenges and has proved its credibility and authenticity in each of the projects it has taken up.
India, i.e., Bharat is a nation of youths. By galvanizing and reinforcing the youth power of the nation, DIYA envisions to make India the ‘Vishwaguru’ or the leader of the 21st Century.
